Some time ago, Joan began exploring the possibilities of producing tapestry on the basis of some of her
abstract works as well as the Fac7-designs. Over the years it has been said many times these
paintings hold an element of textile weaving in them.
Joan has been working with the Dutch Museum
for Textiles in Tilburg and recently the first piece of tapestry has seen the light of day.
For this project, Joan selected the painting DagNita (WhiteTulips) to translate the outstanding
features of this beautiful painting into this new piece of tapestry.
